Beyonce and Charlene Kaye put their “Love on Top”
I always hear people say, “they don’t make great R&B like they used to”. Hell, I’ve probably said it a few times. I guess when you grew up in the 90’s, it’s hard to get into the Miguel and The Dream. But, “the hottest chick in the game” has definitely come through on this track. Beyonce’s “Love on Top” is an amazing tribute to the old school R&B we all know and love. I LOVE the dance she does in the beginning of the video. It’s the kinda dance they were probably doing in clubs in the 90’s.
Now, there are many covers of this track on youtube and, frankly, they all sound mediocre. Except for this one. This one stood out to me. Charlene Kaye gives a nice acoustic version of the track. She does a great job with the vocals and guitar.

TLC and Prince ask, “If I was your Girlfriend?”
A lot of you may have known this but did you know that Chilli from TLC had an abortion when she was 20? Her producer Dallas Austin got her pregnant and because of her career aspirations, she decided to terminate the baby. Now, I think abortion is a woman’s issue and choose not to share my opinion on the subject, but didn’t TLC’s most famous single “Waterfalls” talk about safe sex? I guess Chilli didn’t “stick to the rivers and lakes she’s used to.”
On to this cover TLC did of Prince’s “If I was your Girlfriend” off the CrazySexyCool album. This is a really dope cover. T-Boz’s voice is just so unique. I can’t think of any other female r&b vocalist who has that raspy texture to her voice like she has.
This track was also sampled in Jay-Z and Beyonce’s “Bonnie and Clyde ‘03”

Beyonce and Victoria Beckham feel “Resentment”
Victoria Beckham is one of those girls who look better with huge sunglasses on. Now, you don’t really think of Posh as being that good of a singer. She’s not. But, Beyonce thought she was good enough to cover a track called “Resentment”. Both versions are similar, but I like Posh’s version a little better because the acoustics on the song are simpler which suite the song better.

Usher & Babyface want to “Cater 2 U”
Usher and Babyface look really short beside Beyonce. Is Beyonce tall? I googled it to find out she’s actually 5’7. That means… Usher might be around 5’6 which is as tall as I am! I feel a little better about myself ;).
